Purpose
The objectives of the poster session are to enhance interactions among the EFRI grantees and to inform all interested NSF program officers about the research being funded by EFRI.

Logistics
Grantees will be assigned to staff their posters during one of two 60-minute timeslots on Thursday afternoon, and will be encouraged to involve their students. The two slots are 12:45pm to 1:45pm, and 1:45pm to 2:45pm. A timer will be used to indicate when one session ends and the other begins.
Posters will be on display through the meeting to allow NSF staff to view the posters as their schedules permit. Breaks and the Thursday evening reception will be held in the vicinity of the posters as well, for additional informal networking.
Investigators will be able to mount their posters starting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Ballroom Salon C on the second floor. The means to affix the posters to the posterboards will be provided.
Overview of the Pre-Poster Session Pitch
Each grantee, as listed on the Conference Agenda, must make a one-minute, one-slide (.pdf file) poster “pitch” in the general session to generate interest and encourage attendees to visit their posters. For the Class of 2009, the PI will make the poster pitch; for the Classes of 2007 and 2008, a student must make each pitch. Each slide, together with the name of the “pitcher,” must be submitted to Kate Ryan by Monday, March 1, 2010. Anything more than one slide will be returned for editing.
The Class of 2009 will make their poster pitches between 9:00 and 9:30am on Thursday, March 18. The order will be listed on the agenda. An NSF Program Director will briefly introduce the topic areas, as the PIs line up on the riser in order. Each grantee will have one minute maximum, and the pitches will be made back-to-back. A timer will be used. Since the 2009 Grantees are attending for the first time, they should focus on introducing their project in addition to stirring up interest.
The Classes of 2008 and 2007 will make their poster pitches between approximately 12:00 and 12:30pm on Thursday, March 18. The order will be listed on the agenda. An NSF Program Director will briefly introduce the topic areas, as the PIs line up on the riser in order. Each grantee will have one minute maximum, and the pitches will be made back-to-back. A timer will be used.
