  1. To share highlights of Grantees’ research which inspire Grantees to think transformatively and continue to do "high risk" work
  2. To provide Grantees with opportunities to dig deeper into each other’s research
  3. To foster interdisciplinary interaction within each program and encourage appropriate cross-topic collaborations
  4. To provide an update on the EFRI program
  5. To afford attendees an opportunity to meet one another and renew acquaintances

Moving Fundamental Research to the Marketplace via the Small Business Programs
Joe Hennessey, Senior Advisor, ENG / IIP, NSF, Presenter

An overview of the NSF Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the NSF Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs will demonstrate how to take university research to the market place via small businesses.  This session will provide history of the SBIR / STTR programs, the eligibility to participate, and examples of NSF basic research that moved from the research lab to commercialization
