We hope you all have had a successful year, and look forward to meeting you or seeing you again on March 7 - 9, 2012, at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. Below is a quick listing of what you need to do to complete your pre-registration for the Conference.  Please read on for Conference Highlights

* Register for the Conference

The registration fee is $150 through February 8; afterwards and onsite, the fee increases to $175. Grantees are asked to send their PI, at least (1) Co-PI, and at least (1) student for a minimum total representation of (3) people

Make your guest room reservation at the Key Bridge Marriott

Our group rate is $199 per night plus tax (currently 10.25%)

*   Prepare a 90-second, 1-slide introduction to your poster for Thursday morning's general session
*   Submit a 1-page description of your research highlights
*   Bring a poster of your research to the meeting

Class of 2010: RESTOR and SEED
*   Upload a 90-second YouTube video introducing your research
*   Update your 1-page research highlights (optional)
*   Bring a poster of your research to the meeting

Class of 2009:  BSBA and HyBi
*   Update your 90-second YouTube video (optional)
*   Update your 1-page research highlights (optional)
*   Bring a poster of your research to the meeting

Class of 2008:  COPN and RESIN
*   Update your 90-second YouTube video (optional)
*   Update your 1-page research highlights (optional)
*   Bring a poster of your research to the meeting

Conference Highlights

  • Hear Professor Kevin Dunbar, University of Maryland, and PI of the Laboratory for Complex Thinking and Reasoning: Brains, Genes, Cognition, on new ways that high-risk research can yield unexpected, pursuable results
  • Meet the EFRI Class of 2011 during 90-second poster introductions
  • Enjoy ample opportunities to meet with your topic area colleagues and NSF EFRI Program Directors on matters of importance to each topic area
  • Spend quality time with your EFRI colleagues and their posters in order to “dig deeper” into the research that most interests you  
  • Learn from experts strategies and techniques for communicating your research achievements to policymakers and the public 

We are also offering an optional workshop on Wednesday evening, entitled "From EFRI Grantee to ERC: One Model for Continued Success after EFRI," and presented by Lynn Preston, Leader of the NSF Engineering Research Centers (ERC) Program, and Deputy Division Director - Centers, Divison of Engineering Education and Centers (EEC).
